Sisterhood
January 2026
Hello, all,
This is being composed two days after our Sisterhood/Men’s Club Hanukkah party. And what a party it was. Over 100 attendees ate
enough latkes to last an entire year. Sisterhood purchased 250 latkes, and we assumed that we’d have lots left over. Nope! Every one was devoured with sour cream and applesauce, along with Hanukkah chocolate gelt, Hanukkahthemed M&Ms, and Dunkin Munchies for dessert. After we ate ourselves silly, we read “Horton Hears A Hanukkah Party”, we played Menorah. What a magnificent ending to a
magnificent day!
A few years ago, Jo-Ellen Bromberg mentioned that she had attended a “Painting and Pinot” party, and she thought it would be a fun activity for Sisterhood. Who doesn’t like to day-drink and play with acrylics? See Page 5 of this issue for the details. You must come dressed in clothes you don’t mind getting acrylic paint and wine dribbled on. We are supplying all of the paint, canvases, and tools necessary to channel your inner Chagall. Lynn Sternberg, a retired Art rounds of Hanukkah Bingo for fabulous Publix $10 gift cards (so if you won, you could purchase a dozen eggs and a loaf of bread…), we enjoyed a singing, dancing dreidel (Lisa Rubin-Horton was inspiring!) and the musical stylings of Faye Nepon, Cyd Charrow, and our melodious Hanukkah singers (led by the incomparable Joan
Frankel-Ford). As the sun started to set, we went outside to light our Bernie Katz Memorial teacher, is leading us, so even if you can’t color between the lines, you’re bound to learn something and have a ball doing it. Please RSVP to Donna before January 4th so we have enough materials to go around.
