Social Action Committee Activities
Interfaith Social Action Council of Sun City Center (ISAC) – An umbrella group composed of 7 local houses of worship of which Beth Israel is one. ISAC provides educational scholarships and grants money to many worthy causes. Beth Israel actively provides leadership in ISAC on the grants and scholarships committees as well as staff for the Nearly New Shop.
Nearly New Shop – located in Sun City Center, is a thrift shop that finances most of the work of ISAC. Our volunteers work stock, sort clothing, tools and appliances as well as repair jewelry. Our congregants also serve as cashiers as well as money counters.
